Superwhite is an HDR image tool at superwhite.app. It embeds a Rec.2100 PQ HDR profile into a JPEG so the whites render brighter than your screen's normal white on HDR displays. It is built for LinkedIn, where the effect survives image compression, and everything runs locally in your browser. It is not related to the older open source superwhite video demo on GitHub, which shows a bright white color using a small HDR video file.

Some LinkedIn posts show images with whites that look like they're glowing on phones and HDR monitors. That comes from an HDR color profile embedded in the JPEG, a trick that survives LinkedIn's compression because LinkedIn strips other HDR metadata but keeps the color profile. The glow only shows up on HDR-capable displays with HDR turned on and battery saver off. Most recent phones qualify by default; plenty of laptops and older monitors don't, so the same file just looks like a normal photo there, slightly dimmer whites, nothing broken.
Not reliably yet. LinkedIn keeps the ICC color profile through its compression pipeline, which is what makes this trick work there. Instagram and most other platforms strip it or need a different HDR format (gain maps), which Superwhite doesn't support today.

There are two very different things called a glow. Most online glow tools paint a halo effect into the pixels, which shows on every screen and survives screenshots but just looks like editing. Superwhite does the other kind: it re-encodes your image with an HDR color profile so the bright parts emit real extra light on HDR screens. No painted halo, no filter, and it runs in your browser.
No prompt can produce it, because the glow is not in the pixels. It comes from a Rec.2100 PQ color profile embedded in the JPEG file itself, which image generators and editors don't output. The recipe is one step: drop your image in above, set the brightness, and post the exported file to LinkedIn unedited.
Not the same way. Video pipelines on major platforms tone-map or clamp HDR brightness after creators abused it in short-form feeds. The image route is different: LinkedIn keeps the ICC color profile in JPEGs through compression, which is exactly what Superwhite uses, so the glow survives in feed images today.
Tagging an image with an HDR profile without touching the pixels boosts everything at once, including JPEG compression noise, which shows up as blotchy artifacts at HDR brightness. Superwhite remaps the pixels onto the PQ curve with a glow threshold you control, flattens near-white noise, and encodes with dithering and full-quality chroma, so the mark glows cleanly while the rest of the image stays put.
